Elder Arnold was promoted to DISTRICT LEADER back in December. The mission President sent and awesome letter to us about Cole. He is now serving in the city of ANGELES and has has quite a few Baptisms, including one this week! Elder Arnold LOVES his mission! Here are a few exerts and pics from some of his letters :)
Yea, im a DL now, its interesting, i dont have a whole lot of new meeting, just i have to teach and lead our district,
but its ok. im now in angeles city, pandan and balibago area. yea the area with the red light district. hahaha there
are a lot of old fat Americans here ha its way funny. 3 of them came to church. we taught one. it was super weird
to teach in English. i miss bamban, its hard in this area, cus i went from super rural mountain area to a super
populated city, it feels like a maze, but its cool. My new companion is Elder Pascua, he is very nice. the members
in this area are super nice. they feed us alot, i have had a food appointment everyday. here is pics of the trees,
but sadly i left the one you sent in my last area because theres no room to pack it. but i have the pic. thank you.
next week il tell you about time for skype. i love you guys bye:)
We sent Cole a Christmas tree with notes from loved ones :) (He didn't unfold the branches very well...Haha)
Hello,
About our new investigator alvin, he lives in another area so we had to refer him to them, but its ok.
yesterday we had a white guy come to church. his name is Bob XXXX. He has been going to church for like 3 months
but in another ward, but he lives in our area, so they reffered him to us, he is way old and like has been through a lot, he was a heli pilot in vietnam and he flew in the isrealic air force and then he came to the Philippines and got a wife then brought her back to america then after 14 years she left him,
and its a way long story of why hes here now, but he found the church and he is super interested,
he says that he wishes he had the gospel back when he was with his wife and daughter. he says he has missed
out a lot. hes a way cool guy. he should be baptized on the 28th. it will be interesting if he gets baptized cus it
will be an american baptism here in the Philippines. haha Love you guys, Bye

Hello.
This is a pic of a normal house spider here in the Philippines. haha. they are nice they dont bite or anythingYa we just got through a big typhoon but my area is in mountains so we were super safe and no floods at all. like not much happened at all. just some bananas got knocked over, haha. the typhoon exactly 1 year ago was much more powerful at least from what i saw. That's a bummer about the lake trip. sounds like sor tof a waste. On Saturday Vence john was baptized but because of the typhoon he hasent been confirmed yet. haha next week na lang yan. but ya me and my comp went out to buy some soda, even though we were in lock down. haha. but last year i went outside during typhoon Lando and go soaked in 2 seconds it was raining so hard. actually there is a less active member whose house was blown down from typhoon lando last year.
love you guys, bye

love you guyshere is me and Jeff eating:)That is awesome you got a new job. I did get grandmas letter a few weeks ago, that was nice.hello, this week was good because we found a new investigator that seems interested. he says he has been looking for the truth.haha earlier today we bought the pig, and i killed her. it was really sad. the pig was screaming and kicking so we tied her feet and her mouth closed. then I stabbed through her neck into her heart. then blood sprayed all over my pants and some on my shirt. I dont have a pic, but a member took one so il ask her for it.
this week was good. it full mission conference was fun, it was good to see every body. and president Nelson had a good talk. hes a funny guy:) and no those are not my hands.
ha not much new here. the ward still doesn't really help much... but we can get Jeff to work with us like 3 or 4 days a week now because every time he works with us i buy him a super long hot dog and a chili dog:) haha he gets way exited at the end of the day because he knows he will get his hot dogs. haha he eats about 2 feet of hot dog:) but ya not much new...
sorry no pics this week

Cole is in a new area , in a really crappy apartment, but he makes the best of things!
Valentines day was fun we ate lots of food:) jolly bee is a restaurant:) its like McDonalds. haha no you dont need to send ties but feb 28 is elder Neris B day and he really wants more beef jerky! haha so if you want to you can send some beef jerky, and some floss sticks would be nice, and more tortillas!
about my work, its really hard still because the ward really doesn't help us at all, we are alone here:( we can usually get one person to work with us for 3 hrs a week, so better than nothing but not to much help. also we have really been trying this last week to get some referrals, so hopefully next week when we follow up we can get new investigators. haha we dont really know what to do to get the ward involved but i bet well figure it out.

Workers are people to work with us, so we need 18 yo males in order to teach girls, and most of the ppl we teach are women, so its hard to get lessons with out workers.
haha ya the puppy was alone up there. but we didnt help him. here in Philippines dogs are kind of like rats, most ppl dont really like them. ha its sad but i think that puppy is happier in the mountain than on the streets:) i havent really talked to ppl that like to argue like that yet, most just tell us to leave if they dont agree with us.
ya not much new here i did go on exchange with zone leader, that was cool i sat on a water buffalo, the pic with me in normal clothes is my companion Elder Neri, and the other pic is our zone leader, Elder Branzuela.
love you guys

Hey , i haven't received any packages, thats awesome how cold it is there. and i not sick anymore, mabe next week il send a pic for Folsom.
This week i did get transferred, i am now in Anao, it is a white wash area, so that means both me and my companion are new here. My new companions name is Elder Neri, he is way funny and nice. The hard thing about this being white wash is because we don't know anybody, we need the ward mission leader to show us around and show us our investigators, but he hasent yet, so the past 4 days we have been trying to find the investigators from the last missionarys and looking for new investigators, the area book is really bad to. so we don't have much info on the people we need to teach. We have just been teaching some resent converts. haha i have taught 3 lessons in the past 5 days. We dont really feel welcome from the ward. haha its ok though:) our church is at 9, its weird , we started sacrament meeting at like 9:20 and ended at 10:05 haha its pretty funny, people just do what they want here. so right now our work is way hard, maybe 1 lesson a day. without help of the ward it will take a wile to get going. but i'm having fun, so its all good.
love you guys bye
